EVA Rinaldi can turn you into a tree, a lion or a statue. But never fear, there is no sorcery here, it is all done with paint and a brush.
Ms Rinaldi has been using humans as her canvas at her Abbotsford-based body painting business Human Statue Bodyart for more than a decade. She said it all began when her son was born 16 years ago.
She said she had previous experience as a make-up artist and began face-painting children at events.
"I was face painting and I was asked if I could paint a model for a magazine. It grew from there," she said.
Having never studied or practised art in the traditional sense, she said her work was an extension of her experience as a make-up artist - creatively using the face and eventually the whole body as her blank canvas throughout the transformation.
Ms Rinaldi says she goes through about 20 litres of body paint a week.

Embrace ‘Alto Tango’ At Zeta Bar

Experience A Sophisticated, Cultural And Sensual Journey Every Friday

Sydney– 20 June 2013 – Hilton Sydney’s internationally acclaimed Zeta Bar evokes dramatic mystique with the launch of its new cocktail concept ‘Alto Tango’ – translation ‘High Tango’. Delve into the romance and seduction of the world’s only UNESCO heritage listed dance – Tango - presented with a side of Zeta Bar’s friskiness.

Dancing its way every Friday from 12 July, Zeta Bar will be transformed into an experiential venue reminiscent of the glamour of 1930s Buenos Aires. A sensual, social, captivating place with bespoke cocktails, delightful South American inspired food, and improv entertainment. This is what guests can expect to see, hear and taste at ‘Alto Tango’, the perfect spot to while away a winter’s Friday night.

Guided through the evolution of Tango, guests will enjoy dancing silhouettes who will express stories depicting seduction, jealousy and rivalry between two men and a woman. Guests will be further immersed in the authentic sounds of Tango presented by Sydney’s most renowned Tango performers, ‘Fuego Blanco’ guided by Maggie Ferguson – all graduates of Sydney’s Conservatorium of music and The University of NSW. The traditions will be juxtaposed with Zeta Bar’s resident DJ mixing ‘electro-tango’ beats, the ever popular body art live statue, a timeless photo booth and lively light projections.

For an extra special treat, performing for one night only on 19 July, get up close and personal with World Champion Tango dancers Daniel Nacucchio and Cristina Sosa*. Guests can also sign up for Tango lessons at Zeta Bar on July 20 and 21.

‘Alto Tango’ has been choreographed by the Zeta Bar team in conjunction with renowned mixologist, Russ McFadden from Behind Bars. ‘Alto Tango’ seamlessly combines molecular mixology and classic cocktails. The quirky list features carefully crafted cocktails including Chimichurri Shrub, Two to Tango, Malbec Mulled Wine, Sangria and a selection of Argentine wines and beers.

Russ said, “Zeta Bar is renowned for pioneering innovative cocktail concepts. ‘Alto Tango’ at Zeta is a quirky and interactive way to showcase the talent of our mixologists. We always have fun showcasing to our guests the creative construction and inspirations that goes behind creating the Zeta cocktail concepts.”

‘Alto Tango’s’ food offering packs an impressive punch with Hilton Sydney’s executive chef, Carl Middleton promising to romance patron’s palates with a mouth-watering exploration of traditional South American cuisine ranging from a deconstructed choripan served with chimichurri and salsa criolla, empanadas and for the sweet tooth delectable Alfajores.

Adding to the experience, guests who successfully participate in Zeta Bar’s social media competition will have the opportunity to win a trip for two to Buenos Aires – flying LAN and staying at Hilton Buenos Aires**.

CIO Networking Event gets bodypainted dancers and Italian statues from Human Statue Bodyart - 12th June 2013... Last night IDG Communications leading publication and brand, CIO, got some extra excitement and positive buzz at their annual CIO Networking event at The Art Gallery of NSW in Sydney. Human Statue Bodyart was engaged to supply dancers and statues for the prestigious event only after IDG Communications had conducted extensive research of the bodypainting, bodyart, human statue and performance art aspects of the Australian entertainment industry. The goals of the CIO Networking event included: to education, to facilitate networking and business opportunities and to do it in a creative, stimulating and entertaining environment (that's where Human Statue dancers and statue performers came in). The dancers, some of which were painted to compliment surrounding paintings in the gallery. By all accounts, the dancers numerous rehearsals over the past weeks paid dividends, with special guests and management being suitably impressed with the quality of the entertainment. Over 100 special guests attended the networking event and the performers received plenty of compliments from the executives and event organisers. The dancers and statues were prepared off-site, as per contract specification, and they were brushed up and giving final finishing touches on-site at the gallery. Only the finest bodypaint materials and special effects were used, to maintain the high standards of both the client and the creative arts company. Ms Rinaldi said "We were delighted to create and deliver our entertainment, human statue and creative arts package for our valued client, IDG Communications. The CIO Networking event is one of their biggest events of the year, we are all very pleased that the job went ahead as planned and was delivered to spec and on budget. I'm very grateful to everyone who helped put together this event, from management, business partners, the talent, creative and beyond. This event followed our highly successful Australasian Law Awards event at Sydney Town Hall, and we're all very excited about the future of our company and clients. It's shaping up to be a very exciting and rewarding year for all of us. Interested parties can follow some of the excitement in the online galleries of Human Statue Bodyart and Human Entertainment". We aim to be a place of experience and inspiration, through our collection, exhibitions, programs and research. Admission to the Gallery is free, as are our permanent galleries and most exhibitions and events. Collection Modern and contemporary works are displayed in expansive, light-filled spaces, offering stunning views of Sydney and the harbour, while our splendid Grand Courts are home to a distinguished collection of colonial and 19th-century Australian works and European old masters. There are also dedicated galleries celebrating the arts of Asia and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art. Exhibitions Alongside our permanent collection are regularly changing temporary exhibitions – more than 30 each year – including flagship annual exhibitions such as the Archibald Prize and ARTEXPRESS. Programs and facilities One of the most popular art museums in Australia, visited by over 1.3 million people annually, the Gallery is far more than just a destination for looking at pictures. It’s also a place to enjoy lectures and symposia, films, music and performances, meet friends for a meal or coffee in the cafe or restaurant, or browse in the Gallery Shop. Our range of access programs is aimed at engaging diverse audiences with different needs. And more than 100 000 students visit each year to take part in our engaging and stimulating education programs.
